Council has prepared a Draft Data Breach Notification Policy for public exhibition from Thursday 23 July to Wednesday 19 August 2026, outlining how we identify, respond to, and report eligible data breaches in line with the Mandatory Notification of Data Breach (MNDB) Scheme under Part 6A of the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 (NSW).
This policy strengthens Council’s approach to protecting personal information and ensures clear, timely communication in the event of a data breach.
Submissions must be received by 5PM Wednesday 19 August 2026.
Please be aware that if you make a submission, other people may have access to your comments. This may be as a result of a report to a Council meeting or as part of an application under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009.
