The updated Armidale Regional Local Strategic Planning Statement (LSPS) was adopted at the April 2024 Council Meeting.

At the Ordinary Council Meeting held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 council endorsed to place the Draft Local Strategic Planning Statement on public exhibition for a period of 42 days.

The Draft Local Strategic Planning Statement, Advancing our region: Toward 50,000 sets the 20-year land use planning vision for the Region, providing a framework for future land use planning decisions and the management of growth, based on the regions social, economic and environmental needs.

The purpose of this plan is to:

1. Provide a vision for how future growth will be managed;

2. Implement the New England North West Regional Plan 2041;

3. Identify the values of our region to be enhanced and protected;

4. Support and grow our jobs for the future;

5. Recognise, support and celebrate our unique New England Highland Identity.

Public exhibition period has been extended to 31 March, 2024.

Submissions are invited and must be addressed to the General Manager, Armidale Regional Council, PO Box 75A, Armidale, NSW 2350, or sent by email to council@armidale.nsw.gov.au

Submissions can be made via hard copy at one of Council's offices (135 Rusden Street, Armidale, 158 Bradley Street, Guyra), in electronic format via email, or by completing the below survey.

Submissions must be received by 11.59pm Sunday 31 March 2024.

Please be aware that if you make a submission, other people may have access to your comments. This may be as a result of a report to a Council meeting or as part of an application under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009. Also, under State legislation, any person making a submission on a Draft LEP amendment must also disclose whether they or an ‘associate’ have made a ‘reportable political donation’ or gift to a local Councillor or Council employee within the period commencing two years before any submission is made and ending when the Draft LEP is determined. Further details including disclosure forms are available on request from Council.
