At the Ordinary Council meeting held on Wednesday 27 May 2026, Council endorsed the Draft Policy Framework for public exhibition from Thursday 28 May to Friday 26 June 2026.

Background

Council’s Policy Framework provides the overarching governance structure that guides how policies are developed, managed, and reviewed across the organisation. It ensures that policy documents are legislatively compliant, strategically aligned and consistent with good governance principles.

The current Policy Framework was last reviewed and adopted by Council in 2020. Council has undertaken a review and modernisation of its policy process to improve clarity, consistency and usability. As part of this work, it was identified that the Policy Framework required revision to ensure alignment with the updated process and to clearly articulate Council’s current approach to policy governance and accountability.
