Consultation has concluded

Armidale Regional Council is developing a masterplan for the Dumaresq Creeklands and we need your help to shape the future direction of one of the city’s most prominent public spaces.

Council has engaged consultants McGregor Coxall to deliver a masterplan in consultation with the community that will enhance liveability of the city through integration of the creek and its associated ecology with urban design principles and the creation of useable, enjoyable and safe public spaces.

The area of the masterplan will follow Dumaresq Creek and include the adjacent parkland areas east to Taylor Street and west to Albion Park opposite the Armidale Tafe.

Flooding, hydrology and historic contamination of areas within the masterplan scope will also be an important consideration for future use of the space.

A key objective of the project is to ensure that the voice of the Armidale community is reflected and integrated into the plan and gives the community a creeklands that serves current and future needs, provides a vibrant civic space for outdoor community events and festivals, celebrates the history, culture and future of the city and links the residential and business area of the city.
