Consultation has concluded
At the Ordinary Council Meeting on 22 September 2021, Council resolved to place the proposed closure of Wheat St Ben Lomond on public exhibition from Friday 24 September to Monday 25 October 2021.
Council was contacted by Mr Nigel Geoffrey Bourne on 5 Jul 2021, requesting to purchase the unformed Council road, Wheat St, located on the southern outskirts of the Ben Lomond village. Wheat Street is bordered by Wandsworth Rd in the west, Ben Lomond Rd to east, and parcels of land owned by Mr Nigel Geoffrey Bourne and Ms Nicole Judith Anne Rooke to the north and south. Following Mr Bourne’s initial correspondence to Council, Council Officers provided him with copies of the NSW Crown statutory process for the transfer of ownership. Under Part 4 Division 3 of the Roads Act 1993, Council can elect to transfer vestige of the former road reserve to the Crown. The customer was notified of applicable Fees and Charges associated with the closure of Council roads.
