Consultation has concluded

Round four of the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund is now open. The fund was established in 2017 to deliver local projects that enhance the lives of regional communities.

The Armidale Regional Council Local Government Area has been allocated $1.688.744 million. Each local government area is strongly encouraged to dedicate up to 50% of their allocation to community projects that enhance female sporting facilities and increasing female participation. The remaining funding is for projects that increase the livability of regional communities.

Council is in a position where it can put forward a number of important community projects that would more than exhaust the available funding pool. However we do not want to directly compete with other community organisations who may equally have a range of worthy projects that would benefit from this funding stream.

On that basis Council wish to encourage community organisations with ‘shovel’ ready projects to consider applying. If you are a community group where Council is the landowner we are very happy to consider a community partnership, on the basis that you as the public entity will be responsible for the project’s application, delivery and reporting.

To assist potential applicants, Council is hosting an information session on Thursday 3 June @ 5.30pm in the Armidale Council Chambers. Due to the short turnaround Council is only holding one information session. Staff will provide a quick presentation on the funding available and what you need to provide in your application. This is particularly important for organisations that operate on land owned by Council. If you do plan to attend please ensure you bring along information about the project you plan to apply for.

Applications close on Friday 25 June, 2021, so there isn’t much time. Consider projects that are already well scoped, quoted and any requirement for Development Applications have also been considered.

Please register your interest in attending the information session below. To assist with manageable numbers in the Armidale Chambers we do ask that only one representative from a community organisation attends.
