Armidale Regional Council aims to achieve value for money and quality outcomes in the acquisition of goods and services including consideration of whole-of-life costs, long-term planning and efficiency. The purpose of this policy is to define procurement principles and set out the standard by which Council will conduct its procurement activities to ensure value for money, efficiency, ethics and fair dealing are maintained in the procurement of goods and services.

The Policy applies to all Council officers and representatives who have delegated authority to purchase goods and services, public construction works and services, and manage the associated contracts on behalf of the Council.

At the ordinary Council Meeting of 22 May 2024, Council resolved to present its review of the ‘Sustainable Procurement and Contracts Policy’ (Formerly the ARC Procurement Policy) to progress to the next stage of public consultation.

The Draft ARC Sustainable Procurement and Contracts Policy is now on public exhibition until Wednesday 26 June 2024 for feedback and public consultation.

Submissions are invited and must be addressed to the General Manager, Armidale Regional Council, PO Box 75A, Armidale, NSW 2350, or sent by email to council@armidale.nsw.gov.au and marked 'Submission on Draft Sustainable Procurement and Contract Policy'.

Please be aware that if you make a submission, other people may have access to your comments. This may be as a result of a report to a Council meeting or as part of an application under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009. Also, under State legislation, any person making a submission on a Draft LEP amendment must also disclose whether they or an ‘associate’ have made a ‘reportable political donation’ or gift to a local Councillor or Council employee within the period commencing two years before any submission is made and ending when the Draft LEP is determined.
